How to Add a ChatGPT Voice Shortcut on iOS and Android

Add a ChatGPT Voice Shortcut on iOS

Step 1: Install the ChatGPT App

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Search for ChatGPT by OpenAI and install it.

Step 2: Create a Shortcut Using the Shortcuts App

  1. Open the Shortcuts app.
  2. Tap the + icon to create a new shortcut.
  3. Tap Add Action, search for and select Open App.
  4. Tap the App field and select ChatGPT.
  5. Tap the shortcut name at the top to rename it (e.g., “Open ChatGPT”).
  6. Tap Done to save.

Step 3: Add the Shortcut to Siri

  1. Open the created shortcut.
  2. Tap the info icon (i).
  3. Tap Add to Siri.
  4. Record a phrase like “ChatGPT Start”.
  5. Tap Done.

Optional: Add ChatGPT Shortcut to the Action Button (iPhone 15 Pro and later)

  1. Go to Settings > Action Button.
  2. Swipe through the options until you find Shortcut.
  3. Tap Choose, then select your “Open ChatGPT” shortcut.
  4. Press the Action Button to test it. It should launch ChatGPT directly.

Optional: Add ChatGPT Shortcut to Back Tap (iOS 14 and later)

  1. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch.
  2. Scroll down and tap Back Tap.
  3. Choose either Double Tap or Triple Tap.
  4. From the list, find and select your “Open ChatGPT” shortcut.
  5. Tap the back of your phone to launch ChatGPT using the selected tap gesture.

Now, you can say “Hey Siri, ChatGPT Start”, press the Action Button, or double/triple tap the back of your iPhone to launch ChatGPT instantly.

Step 2: Set Up a Custom Voice Command Using Google Assistant

  1. Say “Hey Google, open Assistant settings” or go to the settings manually.
  2. Tap Routines.
  3. Tap + to create a new routine.

Step 3: Configure the Routine

  1. Under “When I say”, tap Add starter.
  2. Enter a custom voice command like “Open ChatGPT”.
  3. Tap Add action, select Try adding your own, and type:
    Open ChatGPT
  4. Tap Save.

Step 4: Use the Voice Shortcut

Say “Hey Google, Open ChatGPT” and the app will launch automatically.
